The signature forest mosaic is made from 23 different wood species, it is a testament to the vast biodiversity of Sri Lanka and beyond. Each wood brings its own character, grain, and energy, creating a harmonious patchwork of textures and tones.
Among the carefully selected woods, Jack and Mango bring warmth with their golden hues, while the deep, rich Ebony adds contrast and mystery. Teak and Mahogany offer durability and timeless elegance, while the light tones of Grandis and Cypres introduce balance.
Some species, like Lunimidella and Buruta, have been used in local craftsmanship for generations, while woods like Para Mara, Suriyamra, and Sitidora hold deep roots in indigenous knowledge. Ginisapu and Hora contribute fine grains and smooth textures, while the intricate swirls of Kubu and Colone tell a more rugged, untamed story. Even unexpected materials—like Coconut—find their place, reflecting innovation and sustainability.

'This piece emerged from our shared passion for botanical diversity and the richness of native wood. Driven by this curiosity, we embarked on a journey to discover as many indigenous hardwood and softwood species as possible, collaborating closely with the team at Cane Cult.
We spoke with many botanial experts including the state timber coorparation, whitch led us to the most extraordinary places, uncovering sources of true inspiration. One such discovery was a piece of uncut Ebony — a true "black gold." This rare find, protected by stringent laws, is showcased in our display coffee table, set alongside wood species that are in surplus and often deemed "unusable," such as Toona and Cypress. Each wood has its own unique characteristics and beauty, with every variety highlighting the other through striking contrast.
This entire composition is elevated by a sleek, lightweight metal base, giving the piece a sense of floating presence. It is, from the outset, fully customizable to your preferences, making it not only a statement of nature's artistry but a personal expression of taste.'
